Spotlight on: JUNIOR Musical Theatre Performance
Fall 2018/Winter 2019
Ages 7 - 11
Saturdays, beginning September 15, 2018 10am-1pm*
Performance dates January 12th & 13th, 2019
Classes include instruction in acting, dance, and proper vocal technique. From learning how to audition to mastering the art of character development, our students develop the essentials of musical theatre through the process of preparing for a full-scale, Broadway style play. Collaboration and individual skill building are woven through each class, and while not rehearsing students are working on skills that not only foster their talent, but their abilities to communicate, work with others, express themselves and build self-confidence.The production is the end result of our work, and is open to the public. We perform at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in downtown Riverhead. Costumes, make-up, sets, lights, and a full house make this experience one your student will never forget!
*Classes will increase in time as we near production date. Students should plan for extended Saturday hours beginning in late November/early December and should be available after school (4:30-7:30) Monday January 7 - Friday January 11 for technical and dress rehearsals. Students should be available the entire weekend of January 12-13th, 2019. There will be a limit on how many classes each student can miss. If your child will miss more than three classes, they will be cast an ensemble role only. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Classes will not be held on November 24th (Thanksgiving Break) and December 29th (Christmas Break)
Tuition $695 ($195 deposit required to register)
Class size will be limited
Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie KIDS features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants and tourists, Annie KIDS will be a sure fire hit for our 7-11 year olds!
